Fee Types Explained
Most sellers only know about one. The calculator accounts for all three — and shows how they stack on every single order.
Charged on every online sale by your payment processor. With Shopify Payments, this ranges from 2.15% to 5% depending on your plan, plus a fixed $0.30 per transaction.
If you use Stripe, PayPal, or any gateway other than Shopify Payments, Shopify charges an extra 0.2%–2% on top of your CC rate. This fee disappears when you switch to Shopify Payments.
Your monthly or annual plan fee divided across your order volume. At 50 orders/month the $79 Grow plan adds $1.58 per order. At 500 orders it's only $0.16. Volume changes everything.

Common Questions
A CC processing fee (percentage + $0.30 fixed) on every online sale. If you use a third-party gateway, an additional transaction fee of 0.2%–2% stacks on top.
Use Shopify Payments. When active, the additional third-party gateway fee is waived. Only the standard CC processing rate applies to each sale.
Yes. Every online transaction incurs a $0.30 fixed fee on top of the percentage CC rate, regardless of plan or order size. This is why small-ticket items are disproportionately affected.
The calculator shows the exact break-even order volume for every plan upgrade. Generally, moving from Basic to Grow makes sense around 400–600 orders/month depending on your average order value.
