eBay has 4 fee layers most sellers never calculate correctly

Tiered FVF is not a flat rate
A $10,000 sale is not charged 13.25% flat. The first $7,500 and the remainder above it are charged different rates. Almost every calculator gets this wrong.
Managed Payments adds 2.35% + $0.30
Since eBay replaced PayPal, every transaction has an additional payment processing fee. Many sellers still forget this layer entirely.
Promoted Listings stack on top
At 5% ad rate, your total eBay take can exceed 20%. Most calculators don't even have a promoted listings field.
International sales add 1.65% more
Cross-border transactions trigger an additional fee that silently erodes profit on every international sale.
Example: $100 Electronics Sale — No Store
Sale Price $100.00
− Final Value Fee (8.7%) −$8.70
− Managed Payments −$2.65
− Item Cost −$20.00
− Actual Shipping −$5.00
Net Profit $63.65
Break-Even Price$28.11
ROI318.3%

Built for how real sellers work

The only calculator that gets tiered FVF right

Most tools apply a single flat rate to the entire sale price. That's wrong. eBay's Final Value Fee uses tiered rates — different percentages apply above certain price thresholds. Our calculator applies each tier correctly.

  • Tiered FVF for 30+ categories — not a flat rate
  • Managed Payments: 2.35% + $0.30 per transaction
  • International add-on: 1.65% for cross-border sales
  • Promoted Listings Standard (% of sale price) & Advanced (CPC)
  • Listing Upgrades: Bold Title, Subtitle, Gallery Plus
  • Live calculation, debounced at 16ms — instant feedback
Tiered FVF — $10,000 Sale (Most Categories)
First $7,500 × 13.25%$993.75
Remaining $2,500 × 2.35%$58.75
Total FVF$1,052.50
⚠ A flat 13.25% rate would wrongly charge $1,325.00 — a $272.50 error

Find the store plan that actually saves you money

Is a Basic Store worth it at your volume? The Store Planner calculates exact monthly costs and insertion fee savings for all 6 tiers, and tells you the break-even listing count for each upgrade.

  • All 6 tiers: No Store → Starter → Basic → Premium → Anchor → Enterprise
  • Break-even volume displayed per plan
  • Cost curve chart — visual crossover points
  • Automatically highlights the optimal plan for your volume
Store Plan — 500 listings/month, $30 avg
No Store$87.50/mo
Starter$70.45/mo
✓ Basic — Best Value$27.95/mo
Premium$74.95/mo

Know your max ad rate before you list

Promoted Listings Standard is performance-based — you only pay when someone clicks your ad and buys. But the wrong ad rate can erase your margin. This tool shows you the exact ad rate where promoted stops being profitable.

  • Break-even ad rate calculated instantly
  • Profit per sale at 1%–20% ad rate — full table
  • Line chart: profit curve over ad rate
  • Works for Standard (%) and Advanced (CPC) models
Promoted ROI — $100 item, 63% base margin
Ad Rate 3%$60.65 profit
Ad Rate 8%$55.65 profit
Ad Rate 15%$48.65 profit
Max viable rate63.65% (break-even)

Auction or Buy It Now — see the full picture

Auctions can end lower than expected. This tool shows you side-by-side profit for both listing types, plus worst-case scenarios so you can decide with complete information.

  • Side-by-side net profit: Auction vs. BIN
  • Risk scenarios: −10%, −20%, −30% end price
  • Full fee breakdown for both options
  • Winner highlighted automatically
Auction vs BIN — Electronics, $15 cost
Auction @ $35.00$13.89 profit
✓ BIN @ $49.99$26.89 profit
Risk: if auction ends −30% → $8.89 profit

Common questions

Yes. All Final Value Fee rates, Managed Payments fees (2.35% + $0.30), international add-on (1.65%), and Store subscription prices are verified for 2026. eBay's FVF rates change infrequently — when they do, we update the tool. Buyers who purchased receive the update at no extra cost.
Yes — completely. The tool is a single HTML file with everything embedded: all JavaScript, CSS, fonts, and chart libraries. Once downloaded, it works permanently offline. Open it on a plane, in a warehouse, anywhere.
eBay's calculator shows fees only — it doesn't show net profit, doesn't factor in your item cost, doesn't calculate break-even price, and doesn't compare store plans. It's also online-only. This tool shows your complete profit picture, works offline, and includes 6 different analysis modes.
Yes. The tool supports ebay.com (USD), ebay.de (EUR), and ebay.co.uk (GBP) with marketplace-specific fee tables and currency formatting. The UI is available in both English and German.
eBay applies different Final Value Fee percentages to different price bands within a single sale. For example, in Most Categories, the first $7,500 is charged at 13.25%, and any amount above that is charged at only 2.35%. A flat-rate calculator would apply 13.25% to the entire $10,000 — overestimating your fees by over $270. This tool calculates each tier correctly.
Yes. The Bulk CSV tab lets you download a template, fill it with as many rows as you need (each with its own category, marketplace, store plan, and promoted rate), import it, and export a full results CSV with all calculated fee columns. Loss rows are highlighted in red automatically.
Yes. The free calculator embedded above uses the exact same Final Value Fee logic and verified 2026 rate tables as the full downloadable tool. For the inputs it supports — domestic ebay.com and ebay.de sales — its fee, net profit, and margin results match the paid tool to the cent.
It calculates the Final Value Fee, per-order fee, VAT on fees (ebay.de business), total fees, net profit, and margin for a single domestic sale on ebay.com or ebay.de. International destinations, promoted listings, listing upgrades, store and insertion fees, bulk CSV, and auction vs. Buy-It-Now analysis are reserved for the full tool.
Yes. Shipping charged to the buyer is added to both your revenue and your net profit, while your own shipping cost is subtracted. This matches how the full tool calculates real take-home profit.
No. The calculator is 100% client-side: no account, no login, and no data leaves your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
